Top-ranked Tennessee will take on Florida State in their opening game on the 2024 Men’s College World Series under the lights on Friday night in Omaha. The Volls and the Seminoles will be the second game of the opening day as North Carolina and Virginia square off in the afternoon.
The winners of both games will play on Sunday night while the losers face off in an elimination game on Sunday afternoon.
Last seen giving a passionate speech that excited the Tennessee fanbase leading into the CWS, Vols head coach Tony Vitello met with the media during Media Day at Charles Schwab Stadium on Thursday afternoon. Vitello spoke about returning to Omaha and previous lessons that will be taken, the Vols’ top of the order and DH position, team chemistry, beating the history books, and much more.
Alongside Vitello were Tennessee pitcher Drew Beam and outfielder Hunter Ensley as they prepare to take the field in Omaha again this weekend.
Florida State head coach Link Jarrett, along with Seminoles infielders Daniel Cantu and Alex Lodise, also met with the media on Thursday.
Tennessee and Florida State will play at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN this Friday night from Omaha.
