After Tennessee’s home run barrage against Evansville in the Knoxville Super Regional on Sunday night, it’s easier to name who didn’t hit a long ball compared to who did.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with Tennessee leading 12-1, ESPN showed a graphic of Tennessee’s batting order with a chart of simply who had and hadn’t hit a home run. The Vols hit seven long balls on Sunday night to tie a single-game program record when the team needed it in a do-or-die situation.

Tennessee’s home run outburst was the embodiment of the Vols’ past two weekends with 26 total home runs in the NCAA tournament across the Knoxville Regional and the Knoxville Super Regional. Tennessee has now hit 173 home runs this season and is second all-time in single-season home runs as they chase LSU’s 1997 team with 188.
The Vols’ 12-1 win over Evansville on Sunday night clinches Tennessee a spot in the 2024 Men’s College World Series starting June 14 in Omaha. Tennessee has now reached the College World Series in three out of the last four seasons.
