Tennessee baseball tied its single game home run record in Sunday night’s 12-1 College World Series clinching victory over Evansville on Sunday night.
The Vols did it at the best time imaginable, blasting seven home runs with their season on the line and hitting all seven in the first five innings as they quickly put the pressure on Evansville.
Leadoff man Christian Moore got the part started in the Vols’ first at-bat of the game, roping a 115 mph line drive into the third deck of left field porches.

Dean Curley and Dalton Bargo each hit solo home runs in the second inning as the Vols scored four runs to take the lead. Tennessee tied its single-game postseason home run record in the fourth inning when Bargo went deep to left field and Billy Amick hit a two-run shot over the batter’s eye in center field.
Catcher Cal Stark broke the postseason record and tied the single-game record in the fifth inning when he hit a no doubt three-run homer to left-center field. It was Stark’s 10th home run of the season, making him the eighth Tennessee player to reach double-digit home runs.
Moore and Dalton Bargo hit two home runs while Billy Amick, Dean Curley and Cal Stark all went deep as well.
Tennessee had hit seven home runs in a game five times prior to Sunday night. Four of those five time came under head coach Tony Vitello and the other came in 1980 against Tennessee Tech. The Vols hit seven home runs once in 2019, twice in 2022 and once in 2023.
