Tennessee will head into the 2024 NCAA Tournament as the 2-seed in the Midwest Region.
The Vols’ first game of the tournament will be against 15-seed Saint Peter’s with a potential second-round game against No. 7 Texas, No. 10 Virginia, or No. 10 Colorado State.
Tennessee will play in Charlotte, N.C., in the first round on the Thursday/Saturday slate with a potential Sweet 16/Elite 8 weekend in Detroit, Michigan. The Final 4 and National Championship will be held in Phoenix, Arizona.
Just a few minutes after Tennessee found out their opponent and tournament path, Vols head coach Rick Barnes met with the media in Knoxville to discuss his reaction. Barnes talked about matchup-related features such as Saint Peter’s upset against Kentucky in 2022, Zakai Zeigler playing against his brother, and needing to stay sharp at this time of the year. Barnes also talked about bouncing back from their quick SEC Tournament loss, Zeigler’s improvement as a guard, and much more.
