Tennessee football signee Peyton Lewis was one of the highest risers in On3’s final recruiting rankings updates in the 2024 cycle.
On3 released its final top 300 rankings earlier this week with Lewis jumping up 64-spots from the No. 131 player to the No. 67 player in the country. The final rankings peg the Salem native as the No. 4 running back and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia.
Lewis now ranks as the No. 122 player and No. 10 running back nationally according to the On3 consensus rankings that factor in the rankings from all four major recruiting publications.
More From RTI: Trey Smith Could Join A Prestigious Group Of Former Vols
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound running back committed to Tennessee over South Carolina and Virginia Tech last May and ranks as the Vols’ sixth highest rated signee in the 2024 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports composite rankings.
Lewis is a speedster who starred as a football player and as a track star at Salem High School. The blue-chip recruit has already enrolled at Tennessee, joining the Vols earlier this month for the start of winter workouts and ahead of the spring practice.
Lewis joins a Tennessee running back room where he could become a real contributor as a true freshman. The Vols lose running backs from Jaylen Wright and Jabari Small from their 2023 roster while returning sophomore Dylan Sampson, freshman Cameron Seldon and freshman Khalifa Keith.
