Three Tennessee baseball players have made D1 Baseball’s preseason All-America teams.
Clemson transfer junior infielder Billy Amick and junior pitcher Drew Beam each made the Second Team roster while junior infielder Christian Moore got Third Team honors.

Moore is entering his third season at Tennessee coming off a highly productive sophomore campaign. The Brooklyn, New York, native hit .304 in 61 starts with 65 hits, 13 doubles, 17 home runs, 50 RBI and had a .444 on-base percentage.
Moore’s best moments came when Tennessee most needed it, too, as he was named the Clemson Regional MVP for his stellar performances in Tennessee’s NCAA Regional win. He was also named to the NCAA Clemson All-Regional Team.
Moore figures to be a staple at the top of Tennessee’s lineup again this season, but where he will start in the infield remains up in the air. He has seen a lot of time at shortstop this offseason, but he is more than capable of starting at second base.

Amick, the other infield starter to receive All-America honors, is heading into his first season at Tennessee after playing two years at Clemson. A talented infielder with an explosive bat, Amick hit .413 last season with 37 runs, 69 hits, 17 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs and 63 RBI in only 46 games.
Amick posted a .772 slugging percentage on the season and had 21 multi-hit games and 16 multiple-RBI games, including a team-high 10 games with three or more RBI. Additionally, Clemson was 12-0 when Amick hit a home run.
The Batesburg, South Carolina, native figures to start at third base for the Vols with Zane Denton still away from the team and will be one of the top bats.
Like Moore, Beam is entering his third season with Tennessee. The Murfreesboro, Tennessee, native has been a starting pitcher for the Vols each of the past two seasons as the day three guy.
This year, it will likely be a different story as Beam is clearly Tennessee’s top pitcher.
Beam has had a decorated career in orange so far. He has a career 3.20 ERA in 32 starts and has struck out 150 batters in 160.1 innings.
The Tennessee baseball season begins on February 16 against Texas Tech at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas in day one of the Shriner’s Children’s College Baseball Showdown.
