Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media in Knoxville on Monday afternoon as the Volunteers come off of their 33-27 win over Kentucky on Saturday night in Lexington.

The Vols’ win on Saturday improves their record to 6-2 on the year with three wins and two losses in conference play.

After a daunting stretch that included Texas A&M, Alabama, and Kentucky coming off of the open date, the Vols have a little more breathing room with UConn coming into Knoxville. The Huskies are 1-7 on the season this year with their lone win coming against Rice in early October. Tennessee should be able to build a lead this game and turn the ball over to their younger players for some extra reps late in the game.

Additionally, this game also serves as Homecoming for Tennessee, which means week-long festivities leading up to gameday on Saturday.

During his Monday press conference, Heupel gave his final thoughts on the Kentucky game before turning his attention to UConn and the week ahead for Tennessee.

No. 19 Tennessee will host UConn at 12:00 p.m. ET (noon) this Saturday in Neyland Stadium as the Volunteers open as a 34-point favorite over the Huskies.
