Tennessee’s two first-half touchdowns against Kentucky on Saturday night in Lexington were both long scores.
The Vols landed a touchdown on their first offensive drive of the game thanks to a massive 52-yard touchdown run from running back Jaylen Wright.
Wright took the hand-off up the middle, made a few Kentucky defenders miss in the middle of the field, and outran the Wildcats’ secondary in a footrace to the endzone. The score was Wright’s second time finding this endzone this season.
Jaylen Wright currently has 90 yards on five attempts with one rushing touchdown at halftime.

The second touchdown for Tennessee on Saturday night was a career first for redshirt freshman receiver Chas Nimrod as the Arkansas native found the endzone for the first time in his career.
With Tennessee needing to answer a Kentucky touchdown late in the second quarter, Vols quarterback Joe Milton found Nimrod wide open in the endzone for a 39-yard pass and catch. The Kentucky defender did stumble on the play but Milton had released the ball well before that.
Chas Nimrod has one reception for 39 yards and a touchdown score at halftime of the Vols’ game against Kentucky.
