As Texas Rangers’ right fielder Adolis Garcia was rounding the bases in Houston following his second home run of the game, FOX’s camera panned to a Rangers fan section in the crowd with Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello appearing in the stands.
Vitello is standing up in a black shirt at the 0:25 mark in the video below, right in the middle of the section.

More from RTI: Tennessee Baseball Notebook: Vols At The Midpoint In Fall Practice
Vitello was at the game on Monday in Houston in support of Texas Rangers starting pitcher Max Scherzer.
Vitello was an assistant coach at Missouri from 2004 to 2010 and is long credited with helping Scherzer, a Missouri Tiger at the time, with his command on the mound. Scherzer and Vitello formed a strong bond at Missouri that has carried all the way through Scherzer’s major league career and Vitello’s coaching career.
The Tennessee coach has been to various MLB games throughout the fall and the playoffs to support his former players. With Texas and Scherzer winning the AL Championship on Monday, it feels possible that Vitello could be at a World Series game watching his guy.
Tennessee baseball is currently at the midway point of the fall practice schedule with several scrimmages and practices under their belts so far. The Vols are continuing to develop their current players while also seeing what Tennessee’s new incoming players such as Billy Amick have in store for the future.
The Vols also participated in their first fall exhibition game this past Sunday afternoon in Greenville, Tennessee, during an 18-inning contest against Virginia Tech.
