Tennessee enters the week five matchup 2-2 against the spread this season after covering in its win over UTSA. The Vols are 0-1 against the spread in SEC games, failing to cover as favorites against Florida. The over has hit in one Tennessee game this season, the under has hit twice and it pushed once.
South Carolina heads to Knoxville 3-1 against the spread on the season and 2-0 against the spread in SEC games. The over has hit in three South Carolina games this season while the under has hit just once.

It’s only late September but the SEC East matchup is extremely critical for both teams. The Vols enter the matchup 3-1 on the season but lost their only true challenge of the season in their SEC opener at Florida.
Ahead of its open date, Tennessee needs a quality victory to steady the ship before an October slate with four SEC matchups.
South Carolina has played a front heavy schedule and has already faced North Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi State. Despite a crucial win over Mississippi State, the Gamecocks enter the matchup 2-2 and need a win to keep their season on track entering October.
The conference matchup is also a revenge game for Tennessee. The Vols’ College Football Playoff hopes a season ago came crashing down when South Carolina upset Tennessee 63-38 in Columbia in late November.
