The Tennessee Titans bounced back from a letdown loss in Game 1 of the season with a nice win at home against the Chargers last week. They’ll look to keep the momentum rolling on Sunday, Sept. 24, against the Browns on the road at FirstEnergy Stadium. However, the Browns are -3.5 points favorites, which means this should be yet another nailbiter for the Titans. Titans vs. Chargers Player Props
Each of the Titans’ first two games were decided by three points or fewer. Their offense was night and day from week to week, improving dramatically in Week 2. However, they are up against one of the best defenses in the league in the Browns this weekend and are sure to have their hands full.
What they do have going in their favor is that Cleveland’s Deshaun Watson has still yet to return to the QB he was in Houston. That’s great news for the Titans’ secondary that is still struggling to improve on its performance from the year before. Both QBs will have all eyes on them as their play is the biggest question mark for both teams at the moment.

After a rocky start for QB Ryan Tannehill in Week 1, the Titans got back to what they do best in Week 2 — running the ball. RB Derrick Henry rushed the ball 20 times in Week 2, and Tannehill cut his interceptions down to zero from three in the week prior. However, rushing yards have been hard to come by against the Browns. They haven’t allowed a 60-yard rusher in two games this season.
Even with 20 rushing attempts last week, Henry compiled 80 yards, so Tennessee will have to get creative in how it attacks the Browns. Fortunately, they have shown a hole in their passing defense, allowing 127 receiving yards and a touchdown to WR George Pickens in their loss to the Steelers. The Titans are likely to pick on weakness to see if they can replicate that success. If they do, it’s DeAndre Hopkins who is in line to get those targets.
Ryan Tannehill Over 212 Passing Yards (-110 on Bet365 Sportsbook)
Tannehill looked much better in the second game, even though he threw the ball less. The offense stuck to the run in Week 2 despite Henry not having much success moving the chains. Sticking to the run kept the defense honest and allowed easier plays for Tannehill and the offense. That is likely to be the case yet again given how Tannehill tossed three interceptioins when Tennessee abandoned the run in Week 1.
With the attention Henry draws in, the play-action should go a long way against the Browns. Last week, the Steelers’ biggest plays against the Browns were on play-action, including a 71-yard touchdown to Pickens. None of Cleveland’s available running backs draw the attention Henry does, which should make the Titans’ play action even more effective, helping Tannehill reach this yardage total with limited passing attempts.
Deshaun Watson to Pass for 250+ Yards (+120 on DraftKings Sportsbook)
The Titans’ passing defense underwent a major overhaul in the offseason, but the changes haven’t taken effect just yet. In two games, both Saints QB Derek Carr and Chargers QB Justin Herbert have thrown for more than 300 yards against Tennessee. Watson isn’t playing up to their level, but his volume of passing attempts may be a problem against a weaker Titans passing defense.
Watson tossed the ball 40 times in his last game, and now the Browns are without star running back Nick Chubb who suffered a season-ending knee injury early in that game. Without him, it’s likely the Browns will turn to Watson’s arm to move the chains, especially against the Titans, who don’t have the defensive capabilities of the Bengals or Steelers.
Until the Titans hold anyone under this mark this season, it’s a good wager to consider.
