Tennessee football’s week five matchup against South Carolina kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Neyland Stadium. SEC Network is broadcasting the Vols’ SEC home opener.
Tom Hart, Jordan Rodgers and Cole Cubelic are on the call for the SEC Network.
The Vols are 2-1 entering this week’s matchup against UTSA. Florida upset Tennessee in its SEC opener last week adding to the importance of the Vols’ conference home opener against South Carolina.
South Carolina is in the midst of a challenging schedule to start the season. The Gamecocks enter this week’s home matchup against Mississippi State 1-2 after losing a neutral site game against North Carolina and blowing a second half lead at Georgia last week.
Shane Beamer’s team is desperate for wins entering this two week stretch against the Bulldogs and Vols as both teams look to get back on strong footing exiting September.

Not only will Tennessee be looking for its first SEC win of the season when Beamer’s Gamecocks roll into town but they’ll also be looking for revenge for last season’s loss in Columbia. South Carolina handed Tennessee its second loss of the season and late November, ending the Vols’ college football playoff hopes in the process.
Heupel and Beamer got to their respective schools the same year and have split their first two matchups against one another. Even with the end of divisions coming in the SEC, the matchup and program comparison is important for two programs within four hours of one another and compete on the recruiting trail often.
Other top SEC games on the week five slate include Florida at Kentucky at noon ET, Georgia at Auburn at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS and LSU at Ole Miss at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.
