Former Vol Jalin Hyatt is officially on the stat sheet after finding two receptions during the New York Giants’ comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.

Hyatt finished the game against the Cardinals as the Giants leading receiver with two receptions for 89 yards. The Giants offense has been struggling through the first two weeks. Fortunately, though, the Giants’ intermediate and short game started to fall in place as soon as Hyatt took the top off the defense for his first catch of the day.

It was easy to tell that Arizona had to adjust for Hyatt’s game-breaking speed after he proved it in the third quarter.

Hyatt’s first career catch came during the first play of the second half of action. Quarterback Daniel Jones dropped back from the 25 yard line as Hyatt streaked down the field from the left.

As Hyatt began to make his cut, the former Vol threw in a head fake that completely snapped No. 20 cornerback Marco Wilson. The small amount of space that Hyatt was able to create was more than enough for him to break away with his speed. Jones hit Hyatt all the way down on the Cardinals’ 30-yard line for a massive, massive play.

The head fake is easy to spot in the replay in the video below.

Hyatt’s second catch was possibly more impressive, though. While Hyatt’s first reception came thanks to his route-running ability, the former Vol simply went up and made a contested catch late in the fourth quarter with the Giants desperately needing to move the ball.

Hyatt beat cornerback Kei’Trel Clark to the corner and went up and over the defensive back to make the catch.

Hyatt’s second-half production helped the Giants come back from a 20-0 halftime deficit to win the ballgame 31-28.

Unfortunately for Vol fans, though, the Giants came back to defeat the Arizona Cardinals after an incredible effort from quarterback Joshua Dobbs. The former Tennessee quarterback ended the game 21-of-31 for 228 yards, one passing touchdown, one rushing touchdown, and 41 yards on the ground.

It was definitely a game that Tennessee fans could relax and watch to shake off the loss from Saturday.
