Four-Star Tennessee Defensive Line Target Announcing College Commitment Saturday

Four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin is announcing his college commitment Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET. Franklin is deciding between a top group which includes Auburn, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

The Lake Cormorant, Mississippi native is one of the top recruiting targets left on Tennessee’s recruiting board.

Franklin ranks as a high-star four-star and the No. 45 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive tackle also ranks as the eighth best defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle and the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi.

Tennessee has long been one of the top contenders to land the Lake Cormorant, Mississippi native with Franklin visiting Knoxville six times during his recruitment including a June official visit.

But Auburn is trending in the blue-chip’s recruitment since Franklin visited Auburn in late July. One of the two 247sports crystal ball predictions for Franklin is to Auburn with the other Ole Miss. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine views Auburn as the favorite to land the four-star with Ole Miss behind them.

Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class currently contains 19 commits but has just three defensive line commits: four-star Kellen Lindstrom, three-star Carson Gentle and three-star Jeremiah Heard. The Vols are also top contenders to land high four-star edge rusher Jordan Ross.

The Vols’ 19-commit recruiting class ranks 11th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
