The 2023 Tennessee football team hit the practice field for the first time Wednesday morning on the road to the season.
The Vols started the day the same way that every practice in the Heupel era has already. The team started with light conditioning, stretching, and position-specific warm-ups on the indoor field before moving outdoors and breaking out among positions across. After a few periods of position work, some positions such as wide receivers and defensive backs merged for competitive drills.
The final portion of practice that the media was able to see on Wednesday involved the whole team in 11-on-11 work. While the team was not dressed out in full pads, motors were running high as players hardly contained their excitement to be back and out on the field.
