Tennessee Football and head coach Josh Heupel have landed their third commitment to the class of 2024 in the last five days.

Class of 2024 offensive lineman Max Anderson committed to Tennessee via social media on Wednesday afternoon.

“Here’s to new beginnings,” Anderson wrote in a Twitter post.

Anderson, a consensus four-star player across all four major recruiting networks including 247Sports, On3 Sports, Rivals, and ESPN, currently plays his high school ball at Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas. Reedy High School is a fairly new school in the Dallas metroplex and is becoming known for producing high-level football prospects.

247 Sports Composite rankings have Anderson as the No. 201 overall player, the No. 18 offensive lineman in the class of 2024, and the No. 38 player from the state of Texas. Anderson is now the fifth-highest recruit in Tennessee’s 2024 class and the highest-ranked Tennessee commit on the offensive line according to 247’s rankings.

“Big, strong classic guard prospect with plug-and-play size and enough functional athleticism to possibly allow some roster value and position versatility,” 247 Sports analyst Gabe Brooks wrote about Anderson this month. “Good height and mass with requisite arm length for an interior spot. Experience inside and at tackle against good high school competition (Texas 5A).”

The 6-foot-5, 309-pound offensive lineman is also a dual sport athlete at Reedy competing in discus and shot put for the track and field team. Anderson brings great athleticism to the table with solid footwork and fast hands by way of his time throwing shot put.

Anderson’s brother, Nate Anderson, is a redshirt-junior offensive lineman for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners were also one of the teams that Tennessee beat out in the race for Anderson’s commitment.

Max Anderson took a visit to Tennessee on June 9 before taking one to Oklahoma on June 16 but seemingly decided to take his talents to the Volunteer State. Tennessee and Oklahoma are set to square off in Norman during the 2024 college football regular season as the Sooners make the jump to the Southeastern Conference.

Speaking of other teams, though, Anderson commits to Tennessee on Wednesday with a total of 22 scholarship offers including strong programs such as Georgia, Oklahoma, Baylor, Alabama, and Arkansas.

Max Anderson is the third commitment that Josh Heupel and the Vols have hauled in since Saturday night. Tennessee landed a commitment from four-star in-state athlete/defensive back Boo Carter on Saturday night before receiving a commitment from fringe four-star linebacker Jordan Burns on Tuesday afternoon. The three commitments combined give Tennessee 14 commitments in the 2024 recruiting class.

Anderson’s commitment on Wednesday gives Tennessee the No. 9 ranking according to 247 and the No. 10 ranking according to On3 Sports.

Here’s a look at Tennessee’s 2024 recruiting class following the commitment of Max Anderson on Wednesday afternoon.
