2023 NBA Final Betting Preview & Best Bets for Game 3

The 2023 NBA Finals continue in prime time on Wednesday at Kaseya Center. The Denver Nuggets take on the Miami Heat in Game 3 after Miami evened up the series on Sunday with a 111-108 win in Denver. The Nuggets (Moneyline: -150) look to bounce back on the road, with Miami (Moneyline: +126) as home underdogs.

Tipoff is at 8 p.m. ET in Miami. Caesars Sportsbook lists Denver as a 2.5-point road favorite, while the over/under, or the total number of points, is 214 in the latest Heat vs. Nuggets odds.

Jimmy Butler OVER 6.5 Assists (-125)

In Game 2, Jimmy Butler showcased his exceptional playmaking skills by leading his team with nine assists and getting the second-most assists in the game (only behind Jamal Murray). Throughout this series, there have been instances in which Butler actively seeks out the open teammate to create defensive rotations for Denver. Notably, he has gone over 6.5 assists in both games of this series, leading us to believe that this trend will continue in Game 3. Over his last three games, he is averaging 7.3 assists.

Michael Porter Jr UNDER 14.5 Points (-115)

Currently, Porter has an average of 9.5 points per game through the first two games. Considering the consistently impressive performances of Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, it would be smart to expect Porter’s scoring output to stay under 14.5 for this particular matchup. Over his last 10 games, he’s averaging 14 points, so taking the under on his points prop seems like the right move.

Jamal Murray OVER 24.5 Points (-127)

Murray is averaging 22 points per game through the first two games of these Finals, but he finished with a relatively quiet 18 points on Sunday (7-of-15 shooting, 3-of-8 from three). If Nikola Jokic opts to scale back the scoring load and once again play the role of facilitator, it will need to be Murray who steps up and shoulders more of a scoring load to notch a win on the road. Through seven road games this postseason, he’s averaging 26.4 points per game.
