Tennessee opened as massive 27-point favorites against Virginia last week according to Draft Kings. Returning an abundance of production from last season’s Orange Bowl Championship, Tennessee is poised for another strong season while expectations are low for second-year Virginia coach Tony Elliot.

The Cavaliers went 3-7 a season ago while cancelling their finale two games of the season after the tragic deaths of players Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler and D’Sean Perry in a shooting last November.

After an extremely challenging first season for coach Tony Elliot on-and-off the field, Virginia faces an uphill battle to be competitive in the ACC this season. Cavs’ quarterback Brennan Armstrong transferred to North Carolina State this offseason providing a hit to an already poor Virginia offense.

Tennessee and Virginia last met in the 1991 Sugar Bowl when the Vols used a fourth quarter comeback to knock off the Cavaliers 23-22 in New Orleans.

The broadcasting crew for Tennessee’s matchup against Virginia has not been announced.
