Four-star corner Cai Bates will officially visit Tennessee football from June 16-18, the Florida native announced on his Twitter Tuesday morning.

Bates is one of the top cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting class ranking as the nation’s No. 223 player and nation’s No. 17 cornerback according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Edgewater High School standout also ranks as the 32nd best player in the state of Florida.
The four-star recruit’s official visit to Tennessee will be his first trip to Knoxville during his recruitment as the Vols look to make up ground in Bates’ recruitment during the trip.

While Bates hasn’t visited Tennessee during his recruitment he has taken a handful of other visits. Bates has taken a pair of trips to Kentucky and plans on being back for a June official visit. The blue chip recruit took a trip to Baton Rouge in April and plans on being back for an official visit in June.
The Orlando native has also visited instate school Florida, Miami and Central Florida.
Tennessee’s 2023 recruiting class contains 11 commits but only one cornerback— four-star Nashville native Kaleb Beasley.
The Vols’ 11 commit recruiting class ranks 10th nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
