Tennessee football legend and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning has another award to add to his trophy case. On Monday night, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced the winners of the 44th annual Sports Emmys Award ceremony.

Peyton Manning was announced as the winner of the “Outstanding Personality – Event Analyst” 2023 Sports Emmy for his work on the Monday Night ManningCast on ESPN.

This also comes one year after the Manning Brothers won the 2022 Sports Emmy for “Outstanding Live Series” in regards to the ManningCast broadcast.

As many have pointed out, though, the brother’s joint award turned into a solo award for older brother Peyton after just one year. And younger brother Eli certainly took notice.

Eli’s comment on Twitter is right in line with his comedic personality around his brother and his family. Manning’s comment about Peyton winning an Emmy for “just telling fans when coaches should call timeout” is a direct reference to one of the most viral moments from the ManningCast’s first two years on air.

During the ManningCast’s season-opening broadcast this past year, at the end of the Broncos-Seahawks game in Seattle, Peyton was confused with his former team for not calling a timeout when he felt like they should’ve.

Manning’s first solo Emmy Award also comes just about two weeks after the former Broncos quarterback was featured in Denver’s schedule release video alongside NBC’s The Office star Angela Kinsey. Manning and Kinsey combined to do a parody of the “Party Planning Committee” from the hit TV show for the Broncos’ video.

Here’s a look at some of Peyton Manning’s media recognitions outside of on-field accomplishments and awards:

  • 2013 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year
  • ESPY: Best NFL Player – 2004, 2005, 2014
