Tennessee basketball landed its third prospect out of the transfer portal Friday night when Northern Colorado wing Dalton Knecht committed to the Vols.
The 6-foot-6 wing started his college career at the junior college level before transferring to Northern Colorado in his junior season.
Knecht averaged just shy of 9 points per game as a junior before breaking onto the scene by averaging 20.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his senior. The Thornton, Colorado native will now try his hand at being a high level scorer on a competitive SEC team— a major step up from the Big Sky.
The Northern Colorado standout scored in a myriad of ways last season, scoring in the post, taking defenders off the dribble and scoring at the basket, scoring in the midrange and knocking down shots from three-point range.
Knecht shot 38% from three-point range as a senior while attempting over six three-pointers per game. In three games against Big 12 or Pac 12 opponents, Knecht averaged 14.3 points per game.
Take a look at some of Knecht’s best offensive highlights from the 2022-23 season.
