NBA Player Props for Thursday, April 20
Philadelphia 76ers at Brooklyn Nets
Joel Embiid Over 11.5 Rebounds (-113 at Caesars Sportsbook)
It’s pretty clear by now that Brooklyn doesn’t have the physicality or length to compete with the Sixers on the glass. That’s why Joel Embiid is going to dominate the boards again Thursday. His total in rebounds is set at 11.5 and of course, he just reeled in 19 on Monday. While he’s only hit the over in three of the last six outings, it’s difficult to not bet on this player prop when he nearly just doubled his total.

James Harden to Score More than 20 points (+105 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
The days of Houston James Harden are long gone, but he is still more than capable of scoring 20 points. Although the Sixers were one of the better road teams this season, the reliability of the Sixers’ supporting cast may still take a dip as the series swings to Brooklyn. After an eight-point performance in the last outing, the Sixers will be expecting a redemption game from Harden in this one.
Although he has taken on more of a playmaker role lately, it’s likely he’ll look to be more aggressive in game three. He took 13 shots in the last game after taking 21 in the first game. His shot total should return closer to 20 this time around as coach Doc Rivers and company spoke out about his level of aggression, or lack thereof, in Game 2.

Sacramento Kings at Golden State Warriors
Klay Thompson Over 23.5 Points (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
The Golden State Warriors absolutely must win this game. Falling into an 0-3 deficit would virtually end their season. With the series headed back to San Francisco, no player stands to benefit more than Klay Thompson. The veteran sharpshooter averaged 24.4 points per game — 5.2 points more than he averaged on the road, on 44.7% from the field and 42.4% from the perimeter in the regular season. He also averaged 24.6 points per game without Draymond Green on 42.9% shooting from the field and 47.4% shooting from the perimeter.

De’Aaron Fox to Score More than 30 Points (+125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
The Kings ended a 16-year playoff drought with their appearance this year. Fox is a big part of that success, and his performances in the first two games of the series made that abundantly clear. However, they are still a young, up-and-coming team, and they are getting ready to play in one of the most hostile playoff environments in all of sports. Whether or not the Kings are up for that challenge is yet to be determined.
If there is one player who has shined bright in the big moments, it’s Fox, who earned the league’s first Clutch Player of the Year Award this season. In his 2022-23 campaign, he led the league in clutch scoring with 194 points. During clutch moments, he shot 53% from the field, which shows the big moments aren’t too bright for him. You can expect the Kings to lean on him to help silence the crowd.
He shot the ball a minimum of 23 times in each game of this series and shot 51% from the field this season. Without Green anchoring the Warriors’ defense, that should be more than enough to cover this wager.
Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker Under 29.5 Points (-120 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Devin Booker is no longer the lead dog for the Suns. He shot 10-for-19 from the field but went 0-for-3 from deep in the Suns’ loss to the Clippers. Booker had 26 points but five turnovers to go along with it. When the Suns need a bucket, they’re going to Durant — ot Booker. That will hurt Booker’s stat line at the end of the day. Even when he took 21 shots against the Spurs, Booker didn’t reach 29 points.
Kevin Durant to Score Over 7 Points in the First Quarter (+108 at Caesars Sportsbook)
The Suns looked well on their way to going down 2-0 after a shaky performance a third of the way through game two. That’s when Durant took over the game and unleashed the Suns’ offense. It was clear from that moment forward whose team it was and how they needed to play. With somewhat of an identity now established, the Suns should be able to get into their offense quicker and more effectively.
That will serve them great on the road in a chaotic environment. There is a good chance the Suns will look to get him going early to help settle the nerves on the road for a team that has proven to be questionable in big moments, even with Devin Booker and Chris Paul in uniform. If that’s the case, the fact they figured out how to better incorporate Durant into the offense in the last game will go a long way into covering this bet.
Look for Durant post-ups early and often to get the Suns started and set the tone for the game. Wagering on him scoring points in any capacity is hardly a risky bet.
