Tennessee football had a busy recruiting weekend last week, but one of its targets who was on campus is headed elsewhere. After taking an official visit to Knoxville on May 22, four-star defensive lineman Marvin Nguetsop committed to Ole Miss instead on Sunday.

The other schools in the mix for Nguetsop included Michigan and Kentucky. He had official visits scheduled to those schools, as well, but it is unclear if he will still take them after pledging to join the Rebels. He also previously saw Michigan State and UCLA on officials.

Nguetsop is a four-star recruit via 247. He is the No. 223 recruit in the 2027 class, No. 25 defensive lineman and No. 2 player out of Connecticut. He plays for St. Thomas More in Oakdale, Connecticut. However, he was born in Germany while his family is from Cameroon.

Nguetsop stands at 6-foot-7.5 and weighs 268 pounds already. He has backgrounds in basketball and handball, as well.
