The 2025 SEC Media Days are back in Atlanta for the first time since 2022. Last year, media days went to Dallas for the first time due to Texas and Oklahoma joining the conference. SEC Media Days was in Nashville in 2023, Atlanta in 2022 and Hoover in 2021. The event was in either Birmingham or Hoover every year from the inaugural event in 1985 until 2018.

Tennessee will be one of the biggest storylines at SEC Media Days this year due to the departure of quarterback Nico Iamaleava to the transfer portal this spring and the likely addition to a quarterback in the portal to replace Iamaleava as the Vols’ starting quarterback.

The Vols are coming off a 10-3 (6-2 SEC) 2024 season that saw Tennessee make the expanded 12-team College Football Playoffs. Tennessee boasts a 37-15 record in Heupel’s first four seasons as head coach. Expectations are again high for Tennessee entering Heupel’s fifth season but who ends up being the starting quarterback will largely dictate expectations.
