Tennessee football is preparing to host one of the top players in the country on an unofficial visit later this month, On3’s Chad Simmons reported on Wednesday.
Five-star Richard Wesley is unofficially visiting Tennessee on April 15 in his third of three spring visits. The edge rusher is visiting Ohio State on April 4 and Texas A&M on April 11 before taking the trip to Tennessee.
Wesley ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 20 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Chatsworth native also ranks as No. 6 player in the state of California and the No. 3 edge rusher in the entire 2026 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound edge rusher’s visit to Tennessee later this month will be his first during his recruiting process. He’s previously taken visits to USC, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and Ohio State including visits to see the Trojans, Ducks, Aggies and Longhorns in 2025.
Wesley was originally a part of the 2027 recruiting cycle but reclassified into the 2026 recruiting cycle last month.
Tennessee football’s 2026 recruiting cycle currently contains eight commitments including from four-star defensive lineman Tyson Bacon and three-star edge rusher CJ Edwards. The Vols are also in hot pursuit of four-star North Carolina native edge rusher Rodney Dunham. Tennessee made the top five for Dunham, the No. 4 edge rusher in the 2026 cycle, last month.
The Vols’ eight commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 11 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
