Tennessee baseball turned in a successful week, going on the road and sweeping South Carolina in a three-game series at Founders Park.

The Vols went 4-0 on the week with a midweek win over Queens before sweeping the Gamecocks in Columbia. Tennessee’s offense had a big weekend against South Carolina, scoring a total of 25 runs including seven or more runs in every single game.

Dalton Bargo turned in another massive weekend at the plate, hitting six-for-12 with a home run and another double. Center fielder Hunter Ensley also had a huge week, going six-for-13 at the plate with two home runs, a double and five RBIs.

While Bargo and Ensley led the way, a number of Tennessee batters had strong weeks. Andrew Fischer hit a pair of home runs while Reese Chapman and Cannon Peebles also went deep.

Marcus Phillips and Tegan Kuhns each had strong starts on the mound while Brayden Krenzel was elite in long relief again as Tennessee completed the weekend sweep.

Following the successful weekend on the road, Tennessee is now 26-2 (8-1 SEC) ahead of this weekend’s series against Texas A&M in a rematch of the College World Series final series. Here’s where the Vols landed in a handful of rankings entering the week.
