Tennessee will look to sweep the series Sunday at Founders Park. The Vols won the series opener, 11-7, before outlasting the Gamecocks in a 7-5 thriller in game two.
Dalton Bargo and Hunter Ensley were key offensively for Tennessee in the opener, while Reese Chapman, Andrew Fischer and Cannon Peebles all had massive homers in game two.
Liam Doyle was solid in Friday’s start, and Marcus Phillips was great for a vast majority of his outing on Saturday. Nate Snead, Dylan Loy and Tanner Franklin have all gotten key outs out of the bullpen so far this weekend.
Tennessee’s series win marks its second straight to begin SEC play. The Vols are 7-1 in league play and 25-2 overall. A series sweep in Columbia would give Tennessee its fourth on the season and first in SEC play.
