So who will claim their spot in the Final Four? Two marquee games are on the slate for Saturday evening:
No. 3 Texas Tech vs. No. 1 Florida – 6:09 p.m. EDT | TBS, truTV
No. 1 Florida rode its deep bench to an 87-71 victory over No. 4 Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen, and is on the verge of making its first Final Four since 2014. The Gators received 27 points from its bench, including 12 points from guard Denzel Aberdeen who went 5-for-7 from the field in 19 minutes.
No. 3 Texas Tech erased a 16-point deficit late, forcing overtime against No. 10 Arkansas and ultimately winning 85-83. These two squads have only met three times in their histories, with their latest meeting in 2018 resulting in a 69-66 loss for the Gators.
The March Madness odds at DraftKings list Florida as the -point favorites in this one.
No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 1 Duke – 8:39 p.m. EDT | TBS, truTV
Duke continues to be led by phenom Cooper Flagg, who tallied a 30-point effort in the Blue Devils’ win over No. 4 Arizona. The defense was another story, however, as the Devils surrendered a season-high 93 points to the Wildcats after previously averaging only 78 points to opponents. Arizona nabbed 12 offensive rebounds against Duke, which is traditionally a recipe for disaster — save for the scoring talents of Flagg and fellow freshman Kon Knueppel, who chipped in 20 points of his own.
The Crimson Tide throttled No. 6 BYU 113-88, draining 25 of its 51 shots from range. The nation’s top-scoring defense looked every bit of it against the Cougars and will need to muscle every ounce of that scoring ability to take down the Blue Devils.
Alabama sits as underdogs against Duke and in the moneyline.
