March Madness betting promos: Friday Sweet 16 odds and preview

Following is the upcoming men’s basketball schedule and current odds, led by Friday’s four games from the South (Atlanta) and Midwest (Indianapolis) Regionals:

In Friday night’s opener, the South 6-seed Ole Miss is aiming for a third straight upset win (via the spread) when it takes on 2-seed Michigan State.

The SEC Rebels have advanced with victories over 11-seed North Carolina (71-64) and 3-seed Iowa State (91-78), but coach Tom Izzo’s Spartans will present a higher hurdle with their defensive and rebounding prowess.

In the Midwest opener, 2-seed Tennessee and 3-seed Kentucky meet for a third time this season — this time with an Elite Eight berth on the line in Indy. The Wildcats won the first two matchups by 78-73 and 75-64 margins, but the Volunteers are solid favorites Friday.

In Friday’s nightcaps, No. 1 seeds Auburn (South) and Houston (Midwest) are heavy favorites.

Coach Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars have seen their season end in the Sweet 16 in each of the last two seasons, and the NCAA did them no favors with a matchup in Indy against lower-seeded Purdue just 65 miles from the Boliermakers’ West Lafayette campus.
