(2) Tennessee advanced to the Sweet 16 with a 67-58 win over (7) UCLA on Saturday night in Lexington, KY.

The Vols and the Bruins traded punches in the game’s opening stretch, but Tennessee used the middle 10 minutes of the contest to open up a big lead on UCLA and keep them at arm’s length. Tennessee won by nine points but had a 19-point lead at one point in the second half.

As it will likely be throughout the tournament, Tennessee’s senior guards led the way for the Vols. Chaz Lanier had a game-high 20 points, followed by Zakai Zeigler with 15 and Jordan Gainey with 13.

Tennessee will now move on to the Sweet 16 to take on the winner of Sunday’s Round of 32 matchup between (3) Kentucky and (6) Illinois from Milwaukee.

After the game, both teams met with the media to discuss their reactions to the game. Tennessee had head coach Rick Barnes, Zakai Zeigler, Chaz Lanier, and Jahmai Mashack while UCLA had head coach Mick Cronin, Skyy Clark, and Tyler Bilodeau.
