No. 1 Florida faces off against No. 8 UConn to kick off the afternoon, a battle between a favorite to take home this year’s NCAA title and the winner of the previous two March Madness tournaments. The Gators easily handled No. 16 Norfolk State on Friday night, topping the Spartans 95-69. They’re now set to meet UConn, a squad that took down No. 9 Oklahoma 67-59. Florida opened as 9.5-point favorites over Connecticut.
No. 12 Colorado State notched an upset win over No. 5 Memphis on Friday, outlasting the Tigers 78-70. The Rams have now won 11 straight games and are set to take on No. 4 Maryland. The Terps dismantled No. 13 Grand Canyon State 81-49 in the tournament’s opening round, and are 7.5-point favorites over a gutsy Colorado State squad.
The No. 4 Arizona Wildcats and No. 5 Oregon Ducks are the evening’s late game. These two foes are extremely familiar, with the Wildcats holding a 55-38 record over the Ducks all-time. These two rivals met on March 15th in the PAC-12 tournament, where Oregon secured a 67-59 win in the semifinals.
