This year’s March Madness tournament is sure to present surprises galore.

One thing that isn’t a surprise, though, is the National Champion pick from VFLs Dalton Knecht and Grant Williams.

As the lead-up to the NCAA Tournament has been building this week, the NCAA has posted brackets from several celebrities, artists, former players, NBA players, and alike. At least two of those had Tennessee ties with Lakers guard Dalton Knecht and Hornets forward Grant Williams.

Knecht has Tennessee rolling through the first weekend with wins over (15) Wofford and (7) UCLA. From there, the former SEC Player of the Year chose Tennessee to beat Illinois and Houston to advance to the Final Four. Knecht’s final weekend includes Tennessee over Duke, Florida over Auburn, and then Tennessee over Florida in the championship game in a rematch of the SEC Championship.

Williams’ bracket has the same end result but a far different route in getting there.

Williams has Tennessee beating Wofford and UCLA in the first weekend but then beating (3) Kentucky to get to the Elite Eight. Rather than Houston, Williams has Tennessee beating Purdue in a rematch of last season’s Elite Eight battle to advance to the Final Four.

Williams’ Final Four weekend includes Tennessee over Alabama, Michigan over Florida, and then Tennessee over Michigan.
