Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello met with the media following the Vols’ eventful 22-9, run-rule midweek win over Radford in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
Vitello shared his thoughts on the slow start but strong finish, bullpen outings from Dylan Loy and Michael Sharman, Hunter Ensley’s face-smashing catch at the center-field wall, and his thoughts Alberto Osuna remaining ineligible after the court’s ruling Monday.

“Lasting impression is the last thing that happens often, and it’s impossible to not be happy for [Blake] Grimmer,” Vitello said after the game. “He’s a kid who’s had some injuries and some other adversity, and he works hard enough. He deserves more reps, so that is kind of the lasting impression.
“That was a little bit of a stress reliever as far as where you are at in the game,” Vitello said about Dylan Loy’s relief outing. “You anticipate coming back home and taking control of the game, and it wasn’t there. So, it certainly calmed the storm, and he gave us more outs than we expected.”
