Quarterback Faizon Brandon is the crown jewel and the main building block of Tennessee football’s 2026 recruiting class. Recruiting sites view Brandon as one of the top quarterbacks and overall players in the class of 2026, but the Tennessee commit’s ranking is falling according to one recruiting site.
On3 sports updated its class of 2026 player rankings earlier this week and dropped Brandon from a four-star to a five-star. Brandon is now the No. 34 player in the country according to On3 after previously ranking as a five-star recruit and the No. 28 player in the country.
Brandon continues to fall in the On3 rankings. At one time, he was the No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting cycle and now he is the No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2026.

The 6-foot-3, 197-pound quarterback committed to Tennessee over Alabama, LSU and North Carolina State back in early August. Brandon became Tennessee football’s first commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle at the time and marked another major win for Tennessee recruiting in the state of North Carolina.
Since landing Brandon, Tennessee’s recruiting class has taken off. They’ve landed seven more commits including from a pair of blue-chip pass catchers in receiver Tyreek King and tight end Carson Sneed. Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class currently ranks in the nation’s top 10.
Other recruiting sites are even higher on Brandon. Rivals, ESPN and 247sports all rank the Tennessee commit as a top 10 prospect nationally while 247sports and Rivals both rank him as the nation’s top quarterback. 247sports takes it a step further, ranking Brandon as the top player in the entire 2026 recruiting cycle.
