Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media on Tuesday night following the Vols’ 65-59 win over LSU on Tuesday night in Baton Rouge.
Despite a sloppy first half offensively, Tennessee took a three-point lead into halftime. The Vols outscored the Tigers by three points in the second half to find the six-point win.
Tennessee center Felix Okpara put up 15 points in the game on 6-of-6 shooting from the floor, giving the Vols a spark on the inside with a lob threat and his ability to finish in the paint. Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier put up 14 points on the night and had a team-leading nine rebounds to go along with it.
The trio of Zakai Zeigler, Okpara, and Lanier combined for 71% of Tennessee’s offense on Tuesday night.
With a three game win streak under their belt, the Vols will now prepare to host Alabama in a marque showdown on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville. The game will go a long way in the race for postseason seeding with the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament just weeks away.
