… if you’re willing to part ways with $69, of course.
As the next edition of the MLB The Show video game franchise gets set to release this spring, one new feature has college baseball fans around the country fired up.
MLB The Show 25 will include new features in the “Road to the Show” mode including the ability to play at the collegiate level before making your way to the pros. Tennessee, the defending NCAA Champions from last June, is one of eight teams you can choose from in the game.
The other seven teams include Texas, Cal State Fullerton, TCU, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, UCLA, and LSU.
The reveal video on Tuesday showed a quick glimpse at Tennessee’s page in the game when the player chooses what school they’d like to officially attend. While the video doesn’t glide over into the “Offer” or “Details” sections of the information tab, it does reveal four things next to the Vols’ black UT ballcap:
- Location: Knoxville
- Hashtag: #GBO
- Notable Alumni: Todd Helton, Garrett Crochet, Christian Moore
- Team Goals: We’re building something special at Tennessee, a dynasty in the making. But every dynasty needs a leader, and we think you’re the one to keep this train rolling full steam ahead.

While the trailer doesn’t give too many details just yet, it does sound like you’ll be able to win your very own National Championship with Tony Vitello’s program – if you have the chops, that is.
“Choose between up to eight different programs, each offering something unique in the hopes of winning a championship and even positioning yourself to be the first overall pick,” The Show’s trailer reveals.
MLB The Show first announced the addition of collegiate teams on Feb. 4 with a fun reveal trailer on social media. At that time, the trailer also showed UCLA and LSU but it wasn’t clear just how many teams and who would be a part of the 2025 edition of the popular video game. On Tuesday, though, we learned about the confirmed eight NCAA teams that will be in the game.
After winning the College World Series in a thriller against Texas A&M last summer, Tony Vitello’s program was an obvious inclusion to The Show’s franchise. While the Vols’ current or past rosters won’t be in the game, you’ll still be able to don the Vols’ Dark Mode uniforms as you carve your path to the big leagues. Tennessee has been a popular name after its championship win with Vitello even appearing on MLB Draft coverage last year.
MLB The Show 25 will be released on Mar. 18 on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and S.
