Smith ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 112 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Warner Robins native also ranks as the No. 16 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 9 safety in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

The blue-chip recruit has taken a pair of unofficial visits to Tennessee at this point in his recruitment. Smith visited Tennessee for the Florida game in October and returned to campus last month for a Junior Day. Tennessee will likely work to get Smith on campus this spring ahead of his summer official visit.
Smith has taken one visit to Florida State, two visits to Georgia and a lone visit to Florida at this point in his recruitment. He has yet to take a visit to Georgia Tech during his recruitment.
Safety is a position that Tennessee has not recruited at a high level during Josh Heupel and Tim Banks’ tenure. Landing Smith would be a major win for the Vols.
Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class currently contains seven commits but none of them are from defensive backs. The Vols seven-commit recruiting class ranks No. 7 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
