No. 5 Tennessee fell to No. 15 Kentucky by a score of 75-64 on Tuesday night in Lexington.
While Kentucky led for the majority of the game, Tennessee fought back to take the lead by three points with just 6:32 left to play. From that point on, though, it was all Kentucky. Fueled by their home fans, the Wildcats closed the game on a 20-6 run to sweep their southern border rivals in the regular season.
Zakai Zeigler led Tennessee with 17 points, followed by Igor Milicic Jr. with 16 points and Chaz Lanier with 10 points. Zeigler and Milicic combined for 24 second-half points as Tennesee was mounting its comeback in the final 20 minutes.
Tennessee moved to 20-5 with the loss to Kentucky on Tuesday night in Rupp Arena.
After the game, Tennesee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media to discuss his reaction to the Vols’ loss. Tennessee forward Cade Phillips and Igor Milicic Jr. also spent a few minutes with the media as well.
