Tennessee basketball is hosting a pair of blue-chip recruits on visits for its Saturday afternoon matchup against Florida at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center.
Four-star class of 2025 point guard Chance Mallory as well as five-star class of 2027 wing Malachi Jordan are visiting Tennessee for the top 10 matchup, sources told RTI. Mallory’s is an official visit while Jordan’s is an unofficial visit.
It’s Mallory’s third visit to Tennessee during his recruitment, first visiting the Vols last March for their regular season finale against Kentucky. He returned to Tennessee for a visit in December when his high school, St. Anne’s-Belfield School, played in a Christmas tournament at Knoxville Catholic.
A former Virginia commit, Mallory ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 53 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 5-foot-9 prospect also ranks as the No. 9 point guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Mallory is also visiting Vanderbilt in February after he visits Tennessee. Maryland is in the mix for the point guard and Mallory has ties to the Terrapins, playing for an Under Armor AAU team based out of Baltimore. Virginia continues to recruit the local point guard as they search for their new head coach.

Jordan is a White House, Tennessee native who plays his prep basketball at the Link Academy in Missouri. Before transferring to Link Academy for his sophomore season, Jordan played at the Ensworth School in Nashville. He plays his AAU basketball for the MOKAN Elite EYBL team.
Tennessee assistant coach Rod Clark has connections to both Link Academy and MOKAN. The Vols have a pair of former Link Academy players on their roster in Felix Okpara and Cade Phillips.
The 6-foot-5 prospect ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 17 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Jordan also ranks as the No. 8 small forward and the top player in the Volunteer State in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Tennessee currently has two signees in its 2025 recruiting class in four-star wing Amari Evans and four-star center De’Wayne Brown. This is an incredibly important recruiting class for Rick Barnes and Tennessee basketball due to the eight scholarships they to work with in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
The Vols have six seniors on their current roster including returnees Zakai Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack and Jordan Gainey as well as incoming transfers Darlinstone Dubar, Chaz Lanier and Igor Milicic. They started the season with two scholarship spots unfilled. Cam Carr leaving the program made it three for the spring semester.
Tipoff between Tennessee and Florida is at noon ET on Saturday afternoon. ESPN is broadcasting the matchup as the Vols look to bounce back from their two-game losing streak.
