No. 8 Tennessee suffered a second-straight SEC loss after falling to No. 12 Kentucky by a score of 78-73 on Tuesday night in the Food City Center.

While Tennessee fought hard to close the scoring gap near the end of the game, Kentucky’s three-point shooting was the difference-maker for the Wildcats. Tennessee’s three-point shooting, meanwhile, was tough to find.

Kentucky shot 50% from distance with 12-of-24 attempts going in while Tennessee made just 11 of its 45 attempts from deep. The Vols had chances to hit big three-pointers in the final minutes of the game but just couldn’t get much to drop.

Igor Milicic led the way in the Vols’ loss with a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds for the close miss at the double-double. Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler finished with a combined 28 points but also combined for just 4-of-21 from three-point range on Tuesday.

After the game, Kentucky head coach Mark Pope and Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media to give their reactions to the game. Tennessee’s Chaz Lanier and Igor Milicic Jr. also spent a few minutes with the media after the loss as well.
