Tennessee Basketball has announced an Orange Out for the Vols’ SEC rivalry game against Alabama on Mar. 1.
The Vols’ matchup against the Crimson Tide is set for Saturday, Mar. 1, at 1:00 p.m. ET in the Food City Center.
The game in Knoxville will be the only regular-season matchup between the Vols and the Crimson Tide this season. Tennessee swept Alabama in two regular-season meetings last season with a 91-71 win in Knoxville and an 81-74 win in Tuscaloosa more than a month later.
Tennessee and Alabama’s sold-out game in March has every opportunity to be a Top 5 matchup in Knoxville, too. The Vols and Crimson Tide have two of the best teams in the nation with Alabama ranked No. 4 and Tennessee ranked No. 6 currently.

The Vols are 11-0 at home this season with a trio of ranked SEC wins so far. Tennessee beat Arkansas by 24 points in the conference opener, beat No. 23 Georgia by 18 points last week, and beat No. 14 Mississippi State by 12 points on Tuesday night. Tennessee also moved to 23-6 in home sellouts in the Rick Barnes era with the win on Tuesday.
Tennessee has a handful of ranked opponents still left on the home schedule before the Alabama game with No. 9 Kentucky, No. 5 Florida, and No. 22 Missouri all visiting Rocky Top in three straight games. The Vols will host Alabama on Mar. 1 before going to Ole Miss and hosting South Carolina in the final week of the regular season.
The Orange Out for the Alabama game wasn’t the only big announcement that Tennessee made on Wednesday, either. Tennessee revealed that the Florida game in Knoxville on Saturday, Feb. 1, will be a Checker FCC contest. Fans are encouraged to go to the Checker FCC website to receive their color designation for the upcoming game in the Food City Center.
