Player touchdown prop best NFL bets for the divisional playoffs

It’s time for NFL divisional playoff weekend with Saturday and Sunday each featuring a pair of conference semifinals.

The player touchdown prop markets are more popular than ever, and I’ve come up with four best-bet recommendations for the weekend. Get in on the NFL playoff action by taking advantage of our top online sportsbook promo offers, which are worth up to $6,550 in new customer welcome bonuses.

Here are your weekend TD prop best bets …

First TD scorer: Josh Allen (+750 BetMGM) or Saquon Barkley (+425 BetMGM)

Allen, the betting favorite to capture his first league MVP award, has scored 13 touchdowns this season, including his second career receiving TD.

Nine of those 13 scores have come in his last eight full games, making his 7.5-to-1 first TD odds Sunday against the visiting Baltimore Ravens a solid value.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ Barkley, meanwhile, ranked seventh in the league with 15 regular season TDs — matching his career high from his rookie season of 2018.

The league’s leading rusher rushed for a career-high 255 yards and two scores while adding 47 more yards on four receptions against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. And now he gets the Rams again Sunday on what’s forecast to be a ground game-friendly snowy Sunday afternoon in Philly.

Anytime TD scorer: Terry McLaurin (+130 FanDuel)

McLaurin, the Washington Commanders’ stud No. 1 wide receiver, finished second to Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase (17) with 13 receiving TDs during the regular season.

He tacked on another in last weekend’s wild card win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — his eighth TD in his last seven games.

And given the weekend-high 55.5-point game total for Saturday night’s Commanders-Detroit Lions matchup in the Motor City, McLaurin has definite anytime TD value at plus-odds.

To score 2+ TDs: Jahmyr Gibbs (+250 FanDuel)

My multiple-touchdown-scorer best bet comes from the same shootout-expectant game.

Gibbs, the Detroit Lions’ standout second-year running back, led the league with 20 regular season TDs — 16 rushing and four receiving — giving him 34 career touchdowns in 35 games. He’s tallied multiple TDs in eight of those 35 contests, including five this season.

The opposing Commanders, meanwhile, are among the league’s most charitable  defenses when it comes to opposing running back TDs, surrendering 18 total in as many games this season.

Detroit backfield mate David Montgomery (12 TDs in 14 games) is expected to return Saturday after missing the final three regular season games with a knee MCL sprain. But expect Gibbs to get the Lion’s share (pun fully intended) of the Detroit RB touches with Montgomery likely to get less than his pre-injury workload (16.3 touches per outing) in his first game in more than a month.

Last TD scorer: Derrick Henry (+500 BetMGM)

We’ll roll with one of the league’s ultimate closers here on the always-tricky last-TD prop.

Henry, the Baltimore Ravens’ ageless wonder and NFL’s second-leading rusher (1,921 yards)/touchdown producer (18), finished second to Barkley in fourth-quarter rushing yards (517) while tallying five total TDs in the fourth frame during the regular season.

That makes a Henry as good of a last-TD bet as any — especially with a nice 5-to-1 potential return.
