The National Championship is right around the corner but for the second time in as many years, no team from the Southeastern Conference will be participating.

The SEC had a team in the national title game for eight straight years from 2016 to 2023 including an all-SEC game in 2021 with Alabama doubling up Georgia, 52-24. A new streak is now starting to take form.

Texas, the newcomer to the conference this season, was the final SEC team standing but fell to Ohio State this past weekend in the semi-finals as the Buckeyes now have two wins over the SEC this playoff (Tennessee).

This week’s episode of SEC Shorts featured a motivational speaker talking to Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas after their playoff losses this winter. We won’t spoil who the speaker is, but even the most cynical Tennessee fans might get a quick laugh.
