No. 1 Tennessee is unbeaten no longer.
The Vols suffered their first loss of the season after 15 games against No. 8 Florida in a blowout loss on Tuesday night.
Tennessee lost by a score of 73-43 in Gainesville.
The story of the game was Tennessee’s inability to score the basketball. The Vols got out to a cold start and couldn’t find any rhythm throughout the game, scoring just 15 points in the first 20 minutes and 28 points in the second. Tennessee shot just 21.4% from the floor and 13.8% from three-point range as Chaz Lanier and Zakai Zeigler led the team with 10 points each.
Tennessee’s first defeat wasn’t just a loss – it was a blowout. The Vols just couldn’t get anything going throughout the game and head back to Knoxville with a loss under their belt.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media to discuss his reaction to the loss.
