Former Tennessee receiver Nathan Leacock committed and signed with Purdue football out of the transfer portal on Monday afternoon, On3’s Pete Nakos first reported.
Leacock entered the transfer portal just under a month ago ahead of Tennessee football’s College Football Playoff matchup Ohio State.
The 6-foot-3 receiver made little impact on the field in his two seasons in Knoxville. Leacock played just seven snaps while redshirting during the 2023 season. He played 45 total snaps in three games during the 2024 season while catching one pass for 13 yards in Tennessee’s win over Chattanooga. Leacock earned a 61.7 PFF grade in his 45 snaps during the 2024 season.
Leacock was a big-time recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle, ranking as a four-star recruit and the No. 76 player according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Raleigh native ranked as the No. 13 receiver in his class and the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina.

Purdue is coming off a disastrous 1-11 (0-9 Big 10) season where they were one of the worst teams in the entire power four. The Boilermakers fired head coach Ryan Walters after just two seasons (5-19) and hired UNLV head coach Barry Odom to replace him. Odom was previously the head coach at Missouri and defensive coordinator at Arkansas.
Leacock is one of five Tennessee receivers to enter the transfer portal this offseason along with Squirrel White, Kaleb Webb, Chas Nimrod and Nate Spillman. Two of the five receivers committed to Big 10 schools, one transferred to the ACC, one transferred to the AAC and one has yet to commit.
The Vols have three returning receivers in Chris Brazzell, Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley and signed three prep receivers in its 2025 recruiting class.
