No. 1 Tennessee improved to 14-0 on Saturday afternoon with an SEC-opening win over No. 23 Arkansas from the Food City Center.
The Vols took care of business with a 76-52 win over the Razorbacks to start conference play.
Chaz Lanier continued his sharp scoring ability this season by leading all scorers with 29 points while Igor Milicic Jr. proved to be an unstoppable force against the Razorbacks. Milicic provided Tennessee with 13 points and 18 rebounds to notch a key double-double and help the Vols dominate the rebounding battle in front of a roaring Food City Center crowd.
Tennessee’s 24 offensive rebounds added into a 51 to 29 rebounding advantage for the Vols over the Razorbacks.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes and Arkansas head coach John Calipari both met with the media to give their reactions to the game. Additionally, Tennessee’s Zakai Zeigler (12 points, 7 assists) and Igor Milicic also spent a few minutes speaking with the media.
