Tennessee basketball is hosting a new target in the 2025 recruiting cycle on campus this weekend. Three-star point guard Zyree Collins is taking his first visit to Tennessee for the Vols’ SEC opening matchup against No. 23 Arkansas, a source confirmed to RTI on Thursday.

Collins is a 6-foot, 165-pound point guard from St. Louis who has largely gone under the radar to this point in his recruitment. He holds offers from six different schools but none of them are power five teams. Murray State and Saint Louis are his biggest offers to this point.

247sports ranks Collins as a three-star recruit and the No. 28 point guard in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Collins also ranks as the No. 8 player in the state of Missouri.

Zyree is the younger brother of former Saint Louis point guard Yuri Collins. The elder Collins brother entered the transfer portal following the 2021-22 season and was considering Tennessee before eventually returning to play his senior season for the Billikens. Collins was one of the best point guards in the country that season, averaging 11.2 points and 10.1 assists per game.

This is an incredibly important recruiting class for Rick Barnes and Tennessee basketball due to the high number of scholarships that they have available. The Vols have eight scholarships to work with in the 2025 recruiting cycle. They started the season with two scholarship spots unfilled. Cam Carr leaving the program made it three for the spring semester.

Tennessee has six seniors on their current roster including returnees Zakai Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack and Jordan Gainey as well as incoming transfers Darlinstone Dubar, Chaz Lanier and Igor Milicic.

The Vols signed a pair of four-star recruits back in November in wing Amari Jefferson and center DeWayne Brown. Tennessee is also working to land five-star guard Brayden Burries and five-star wing Nate Ament. The Vols have also been linked to four-star point guard and former Virginia commit Chance Mallory but the undersized point guard has yet to visit Tennessee.

Tipoff between Tennessee and Arkansas is at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. ESPN is broadcasting the top 25 matchup.
