Former Tennessee Vol Jauan Jennings had a viral moment early into the San Francisco 49ers Monday Night Football game against Detroit.

With the 49ers just three yards away from the endzone on their first drive of the game, San Francisco rushed up the middle for no gain. Jennings, blocking on the play, was locked up with Detroit defensive back Terrion Arnold as the former Vol carried the former Alabama DB through the endzone and into the barrier that keeps the fans off the field.

Jennings was shoved over the barricade by Detroit defensive back Kerby Joseph after the play, resulting in off-setting personal foul penalties for both Jennings and Josephs.

Users on X quickly pointed out the Tennessee-Alabama connection between Jennings and Arnold after he blocked him through the endzone.

Jennings was fiery with the Detroit defensive backs all game, totaling seven receptions for 67 yards in the loss to the Lions on Monday night.

A good chunk of that production came with VFL Josh Dobbs at quarterback, too.

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy exited the game during the final drive after suffering a big hit, opening the door for backup QB Dobbs to lead the final drive for the Niners.

Dobbs came in and connected with Jennings, his old running mate at Tennessee, on his first two passing attempts of the game. The first pass went for 15 yards while the second went for nine.

Former Tennessee linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin pushed Jennings out of bounds on the first play to complete the full-circle Tennessee play.

Dobbs looked Jennings way for a third time in the drive but the pass fell incomplete.

The former Tennessee quarterback ended up finding the endzone himself on the next play with a seven-yard scramble out of the pocket.

Dobbs finished the game with 35 yards on 3-of-5 passing with one seven-yard touchdown rush.

Monday’s contest had the first passing attempts for Dobbs in a game this season while Jennings has totaled 923 yards and six touchdowns on 70 receptions this season.

The 49ers fell to the Lions by a score of 40-36 in an exciting game on Monday night.
