Tennessee defensive back Christian Harrison is set to enter the transfer portal, he announced on social media Sunday evening.

Harrison finished the 2024 season with 20 total tackles and one pass deflection. The Atlanta native tallied two tackles in Saturday’s season-ending loss to Ohio State.

“Thank you to the man above for blessing me with everything, without him I am nothing,” Harrison posted to X on Sunday. “Also, thank you to the Tennessee fans for all of the support. With that being said, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.”

The Vols’ redshirt sophomore safety started at the star position for the first four games of Tennessee’s season but eventually saw his reps turn to Tennessee freshman defensive back Boo Carter as the season progressed. Harrison, though, still had a key rotational role for the Vols’ secondary.

Harrison played in every game this season with his best game on the stat sheet taking place against Oklahoma where he recorded a season-high five tackles including three solo tackles. Harrison also tallied four tackles against Vanderbilt and recorded half a sack against Arkansas.

The 6-foot-1 safety earned a 66.3 grade on 273 plays from Pro Football Focus during his regular season work with the Vols this season.

Harrison recorded 31 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, one pass deflection, and half a sack in 24 career games during his three years in Knoxville. Harrison was also a big contributor to Tennessee’s special teams unit.

Harrison, the son of two-time Super Bowl Champion Rodney Harrison, was a three-star prospect in Tennessee’s 2022 recruiting class out of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA.
