Tennessee transfer receiver Kaleb Webb flipped his commitment from Maryland to Wake Forest on Tuesday night, he announced on his Instagram.
“I was trolling last time,” Webb captioned his commitment post. “I’m headed to Maryland dummy.”
Webb committed to Maryland less than a week after originally committing to Wake Forest. But there was good reason for his change in plans as Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson retired last week after 11 years leading the Demon Deacons program.
It didn’t take Webb long to find a new home as he heads north from Winston-Salem to College Park and from the ACC to the Big 10.
Webb spent three years in Knoxville, arriving at Tennessee as four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Over the course of his three years at Tennessee, Webb caught 22 passes for 214 yards and one touchdown. His best season came in 2023 when he caught just six passes for 48 yards during the regular season.

Playing 99 snaps over seven games, Webb earned a 62.7 PFF grade which was the fourth best amongst Tennessee receivers. His best game of the season came against Chattanooga when he caught two passes for 19 yards.
Webb joins a Maryland program that is coming off a disappointing 4-8 season. The Terrapins had previously been solid under head coach Mike Locksley, going 23-16 in the previous three seasons before 2024.
